ROUTE ONE FILMS ACQUIRES “THE NAMELESS”
FROM VALHALLA ENTERTAINMENT
Los Angeles, CA – May 03, 2012 – Route One Films has acquired the action-thriller ‘The Nameless” from Gale Anne Hurd’s Valhalla Entertainment.
“The Nameless” is set in a top secret facility that houses witnesses awaiting new identities. When the area’s location is compromised, an idealistic U.S. Marshal and the town’s inhabitants must take a stand against a team of assassins determined to execute the key witness in an upcoming trial.
“The Nameless” is a suspenseful, character-driven action script and we are excited to move forward on it with the executives at Route One, who really share our vision for the project,” says Gale Anne Hurd, Valhalla CEO.
Route One Films, led by managing partners Jay Stern, Russell Levine and Chip Diggins, closed out 2011 with the announcement of production financing from their participation in the $110 million Sovik Global Contents Fund out of South Korea.
“This is the exactly kind of smart, mainstream film we want to make, and we are thrilled to be working with Gale and her team at Valhalla,” said Route One.
“The Nameless” was written by Chris Bullett, who previously wrote the psychological thriller, “Isolation,” which premiered last year at the Sitges Film Festival. The film was directed by Stephen Kay (“Boogeyman”) and produced by Principal Entertainment and Natural Selection.
Valhalla exec Kris Henigman brought in and developed “The Nameless” at Valhalla and Megan Hughes was instrumental in Route One’s involvement. Mike Goldberg and Josh Adler are Executive Producers on the project. Chris Bullett is repped at Gersh and New Wave. Chris’ legal representation is Kim Stenton at Myman, Greenspan, Fineman, Fox, Rosenberg & Light.
